Scotland: Blades and Swords Crimes

I didn't know that Scotland was a "samurai land", until I found this article on the selfdefense forum: Samurai Scotland

In 2005, 72 per people in Scotland died from stab wounds, against only 42 killed in 1998. You can see that in Scotland, the trend is for killing with swords, knifes...

Since 1998, 400 has been killed by blades.

The Government is determined to put an end at the "Sword Violence".

An Executive spokesman said: "We are determined to crack down on violence in Scotland - particularly the booze and blade culture which strikes fear into the heart of too many of our communities.

"Knives and sharp objects are the most common method of killing in this country, consistently accounting for around half of all murders each year."

From september, nobody under 18 will be allowed to buy a blade (until now, you could buy a sword or blade when you are 16.)

In some areas, they started to use metal detector gloves, to prevent the rising sword violence.
