Belfair woman and her fatal stabbing: self-defense case?

SHELTON, Wash. -- A woman has been arrested after she stabbed her boyfriend to death in Belfair.

Lori Ann Sawyer, 33 years old said that her boyfriend threw her on the ground, then frightened her.

She immediately grabbed a knife, and when her boyfriend Aaron Elliott Brooks, 44 came, the knife penetrated Aaron's lower chest.

The couple had already a story of domestic violence, and two no contact orders were already pronounced.

Read more on That sad Belfair Stabbing Story.

Knifes can be dangerous, and one should be careful in all his actions. However, we don't know the true story yet... We will know soon if that was a self defense case.

Gozo Shioda: Aikido Yoshinkan Style

Gozo Shioda was born in Tokyo in 1915, and became on of the best students of Morihei Ueshiba, who is the founder of Modern Aikido.

Gozo Shioda was holder of the 9th Rank Belt. He is the founder of The school of Aikido Named Yoshinkan.

He was Chief Instructor for the Police of Tokyo, the air self defense force, the japanes National Railways, and some universities like Sophia University and Maiji Gakuin.

The Aikido Style of Yoshinkan is really well adapted to "Surprise Street Attack" SSA, as I call them.

You are able to deal not only with frontal attacks, but also with attacks from the rear, or any attack coming from any side.

The ease of the movements is uncomparable. The Yoshinkan Style is also caracterised by a hard and dynamic style concerned with the practicality of its techniques, however, it has the essence of the Aikido instructed by Morihei Ueshiba.

Gozo founded Yoshinkan on the Aiki Budo (the first name of Aikido when Morihei was training at the Kobukan dojo) principle: the hard Aikido.

I really like his "aikido enlightenment" principle: After an incident with some members of a Chinese Gang in Shangai, he said that you could only truly appreciate what aikido was about once you had used it in a life-or-death situation such as this.

It is true for every arts. You can't understand how it's powerful until the test: "Die or Survive"...

Read more about Gozo Shioda and his nights excursions against Gangs on Wiki I like that... Morihei didn't like that though.

My really first contact about Aikido was a night(years ago) while I was working at an event in Paris as a Security Guard with Baffalo Protection. (What a team of fighter... A real team of Bushis) Each of us was doing an art, everyday.

For instance, I had two or three seances of training per day, and the last from 9 to 10 pm(just the time to change, eat something, and go back to work ). Each time I was going to work, I was someone else, a warrior; I knew this day could be the last. If you are working in this field, you know what I am talking about.

So that day, I noticed one of our mate, which was always alone, never talking to anyone. I knew all the others, in my team, My superior was a master of Chinese Boxing, that was in Taekwendo, this one Boxing, myself in Silat.

However I didn't know anything about that man and we was working together for months!
So I went to him, and asked: "what is your art". He answered: "Aikido". I said: : Show me what you can do", he replied: "come". Immediately, I attacked him (I am not a fan of attack, I prefer to defend), and he put me on the floor with one wrist technique.

It was amazing, I asked him to show me the technique in details, and I knew from that time that Aikido was something I need to practice and master at a later stage.

It was like the "Scientific Martial Art". Everything was calculated, I like that. No need to be stronger than your opponent, a complete "Scientific and highly optimized system of techniques".

We had that technique in Silat, but I saw at the first glance that it was more elaborated in Aikido...

I am now practicing Aikido, and I want to master the art.

Yo = cultivating
Shin = spirit,mind
Kan = house

Yoshinkan = The house for the cultivation of mind

Take Care...

Aikido Christian Tissier

Aikido is my ultimate and prefered martial arts. I am in th Yoshinkan School of Gozo Shioda. I'll give you more on Aikido, Aikikai and Yoshinkan later...

I practiced before with Christian tissier, in France. Unfortunately, I couldn't train more than three months, because of my work (that's on of the reason I am working on the net now.)

Christian Tissier Practiced at the Aikikai of Tokyo.

I've just found a Video of Christian Tissier in Youtube.

His website (For French and Canadians): Christian Tissier

If you travel in France, here is the address: Cercle Christian Tissier, 108, rue de Fontenay 94300, Paris 75025 France 328 29 90.

See also Gozo Shioda Video at Youtube. You will find other Aikido videos as well.

I trained with a lost of GranD Master, and Christian Tissier is one of them. In Aikikai, he is my best teacher: He is not tall, but I remember when I just joined the club, and he was a kind person, we talk about Aikido.

He told me to grab his two hands, and immediately, I felt that that small man(compared to me:more than 6 feets, exactly 1m 92 centimeters) has a great power, and controlled energy.

I immediately knew that he was a grandmaster. After some years of practice in martial arts, you can feel someone's power and energy. Sometimes, just a glance and you are aware of your man. This is a skill, very difficult to get.

How I found Christian Tissier?
As usual, when searching for a teacher, I am searching for the best one. I've always been like that. Not only in Martial Arts...

The first time I saw an Aikido Demo, I was doing Silat at this time (more about that later...), I was like LOL. I thought what is that again? A show, or something like that.

But after my experience know, as a street fighter, doorkeeper and body guard, I can tell you that Aikido is my best bet now.

I know how it is effective. When someone who don't practice it look on the sensei doing techniques, you can think that it is fake, but I can assure you that it is not.

I've found Aikido to be very efficace in the street, and against real attacks with weapons.

Something about Aikido Practicers: It is a small majority, and it is not only in Aikido, but in every Martial Art: Some students are training since years, but the problem is that they never faced a real situation.

A situation in which someone want to take your life, I assure you that if you have never do that, you will loose all your capacities, even if you are stronger than the attacker.
