Difference between Self Defense and fighting

There is a big difference between self defense and fighting.

In a self defense situation, what you want to do is just to save your life. You want to be able to go back home, with no or only a few injuries.

In a fight, you want to defeat your opponent (it can be an unarmed or armed fight).

It is really important to know the difference, because the fight can have many complications with the justice.

And you may already know it or not, if you break someone arm to protect yourself while he only assaulted you verbally, you can be in troubles.

What is really difficult is that the law is not the same from state to state, or country to country.

And when you think that you are in your right while you are breaking someone's arm or leg because he threatened you with his knife, you may find a bad surprise: It was not allowed in that state! Here start the problems...

I personally know a lot of people who were stabbing others at will once a problem occurred, without even thinking of the consequences.

If you see them several years after, they regret their past of knife fighters, because every months now, a large amount of money is deducted from their salary, and is going to their victim.

Another thing to take in consideration is that if you are a martial artist, boxer, knife fighting student or anything like that, you will be considered like someone wearing a weapon, even if you don't have one!?

Be careful, because the law will caught you...

Self Defense is an art, and you don't want to let any marks on your aggressor... You must know how to hide... The art of ninja?

Yes, something like that. You strike, then disappear...
